About the author
Уинстон Грум (англ. Winston Groom, 23 марта 1943 – 17 сентября 2020) – американский писатель. Его наиболее известное произведение - роман «Forrest Gump», который был экранизирован в 1994 году. Грум родился в Вашингтоне, но вырос в Алабаме. Окончил Университет Алабамы, по программе подготовки офицеров резерва. С 1965 по 1969 служил в армии, в 1966-1967 был во Вьетнаме, в составе 4-й пехотной дивизии. После службы работал газетным репортером. Его первый роман Better Times Than These был опубликован в 1978 году. С 1980 года полностью посвятил себя писательской карьере. Кроме художественных произведений, Грум написал ряд работ по истории США.
